Employment 101: Wrongful Discharge, Whistleblowing, Breach of Contract
It is well-known that employers cannot discharge an employee because of his or her protected class. But employers can also incur liability for discharging employees for many other reasons.
This course will explore the discharge of employees who allege wrongful or retaliatory discharge; retaliation for protected concerted activities; retaliation for complaining about wages, hours or safety conditions; retaliation under the Family and Medical Leave Act; and retaliation related to pension benefits.
