



Torts 101: Business Liability for Third Party Criminal Attacks
Victims of crime have often sued businesses claiming that the business' failure to provide adequate security was the cause of their harm. Businesses counter that the sudden violent acts of third parties are inherently unforeseeable.
This course explores this intriguing area of the law, which is rampant with major public policy issues on both sides. This course also introduces the different tests courts use to determine whether a legal duty exists on the business owner. This course then tests participants with a series of fact patterns drawn from real appellate cases.
