
The instructor for this course is Howard M. Kastrinsky. Mr. Kastrinsky
is a partner in King & Ballow's Labor and Employment section.
He has been an attorney with King & Ballow since 1986. Prior to
then, he was a trial attorney with the National Labor Relations
Board.
This
course introduces you to the rules governing employer investigations
under the National Labor Relations Act.
It covers the various aspects of the Supreme Court's Weingarten
decision, including the recent decision of the National Labor
Relations Board to extend Weingarten protections to employees
who are not represented by a labor organization. It explains the
circumstances under which an employee may request representation,
when an employer must honor that request, and the consequences
of a refusal to honor a Weingarten request. Detailed knowledge
of the National Labor Relations Act is not requiredto complete
this course.
