Sexual Harassment in the workplace is continuing to be a hot topic in the area of employment discrimination. Courts continue to expand the definition of "harassment" and the number of sexual harassment claims is expected to rise.

This on-line course is designed to introduce you to the basic concepts behind sexual harassment law and how those concepts came about. Most of the concepts explored in this course transcend all federal jurisdiction.

This course explores basic issues that arise under the context of sexual harassment including:

  • How someone can be harassed;
  • Who can be a harasser;
  • The various standards for employer liability; and
  • How employers can protect themselves from harassment claims.

To explore these concepts, this course tracks the experiences of two employees each facing potentially harassing conduct in the workplace. As the attorney asked to represent these employees quickly understands, attorneys representing employers and employees must be prepared to confront the issue of sexual harassment in the workplace intelligently and directly.
